Where to Stay in Cebu for under PhP 1,000!

I know I haven't updated this travel blog of mine for quite some time. Truth be told, I don't think I'll be traveling much (if at all) this 2009. But I do have lots of backlog from my travels last year to January of this year and I'll be updating this blog with those.

I literally walked around Mandaue City, map in hand, to come up with this list. This is in the vicinity of the Fuente Osmeña Circle. I wasn't keen on spending much for a 12-hr stay. I found out that there are actually a lot of available affordable accommodations in the area just by walking around. Do note that these are budget accommodations. These are usually single rooms, with own toilet and bath, hot and cold shower, and a small tv and that's it. Here they are:

Ramos St. and General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City	254 9169 / 0923 4543901	Rates starts at PhP899.00 for a Standard Room with plated breakfast. Verbena Pension House	#584-A Don Gil Garcia St., Capitol Site, Cebu City	253 0203/253 3430	Rates starts at PhP550.00 for a single-bed Standard Room and PhP 780.00 for a Matrimonial-bed Deluxe Room. I wanted to see the room but it took so long for someone to show it to me that I decided to leave the place without seeing the room. Lousy service.
Verbena Capitol Suites	#79 Don Gil Garcia Street, Capitol Site, Cebu City	255-8308 / 254-8537 / 0928 9705647	Rates starts at PhP890.00 for Standard Room with free breakfast for 2. I think the one above and this one have the same owners but this definitely looks better and managed better than the other one.
Palladium Suites	#6 Don Julio Llorente St., Capitol Site, Cebu City	255 1780	Rates starts at PhP900.00 for a Standard Room
Sampaguita Suites	2nd Flr., JRG Bldg., Gen. Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City	253 3672/253 5964	Rates starts at PhP698.00 for a Single Room. I wanted to stay here but they were full at that time.

So there! You don't have to go walk around in the Fuente Osmeña Circle. But do call these establishments first before showing up or visit their websites since prices could have had changed since then or worse (que horror!) the establishment has already closed down! Enjoy!
