Cebu: Basilica Minore del Santo Niño
Below are pictures of the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño in Cebu. My family and I were there last December and though I am no devout catholic/devotee, we dropped by nonetheless since my parents wanted to thank the heavens for the chance for the whole family to be together once again. I didn't mind since I just wanted to go back and appreciate the place (unlike the last time I was there. I hated jostling with the crowd).
One thing of interest is that after the mass, you'd notice the people waving their arms as if saying goodbye. My sister, who has been staying for several months in Cebu, explains that the people are actually saying goodbye to Sto. Niño, the representation of the child Jesus, who/which happens to be patron saint of Cebu.
Happy Easter!
It is a reality though. You have to deal with the crowd.
Be careful of pickpockets!
Look at that altar. One of the most ornate altars I've ever seen (not that I've seen much).
