Gran Prix, Cebu

I'm very busy these days singlehandedly taking care of my baby but Sophia followed me up on my Gran Prix experience (which as I said here, I was going to do a post on) so I thought I'll just do a quick one on it.

This is what the Superior Room at Gran Prix Cebu looks like:
Superior Room - Bed

It looks big in the picture above and if one were to check the Gran Prix website, it looks even bigger!

In reality, it's only 12 square meters. The superior room comes with a double bed, side table with lamp, flat screen tv, console table at the side (no drawers), a hot and cold shower, and a complimentary breakfast. For its Zen theme, cleanliness, and location, at PhP 999.00, I guess I shouldn't complain.

Well, there were some things that peeved me during my stay at Gran Prix, Cebu. I've listed them below:

  • Didn't like that there was only one rug in the room placed outside the bathroom. That means that stepping out of the shower, there's no bath mat waiting for you which means a wet floor. Better be careful for you might just slip!
  • Service was slow! When I requested for a new rug (because the existing one was wet), it took them quite some time to respond. And when I asked for another, they turned a deaf ear!
  • They must have constructed the place in a hurry because there was a significant gap between the door (to the room) and the floor. Unfortunately for me, the only superior room available was near the reception desk. I ended up spending the night listening to passers-by in the hallway! So if you want a good night's rest, don't get this room!

Not to mention that the flat screen television referred to in the ad turned out to be a small AOC LCD monitor. And here's the complimentary "sumptuous breakfast" waiting for me:

Two loaves of bread with strawberry jam, an egg cooked sunny side-up, and coffee. See that black thing on the left side of the image? That's my bag sitting on the floor because there was nowhere else I could put it.

Value for my money? I don't think so.
